FUNDAMENTAL 1

THE FOUNDATIONS OF PRECISION

The Fundamental 1 Seminar is the first seminar in the Fundamental Seminar Series, and is the critical foundation of the Advanced Orthogonal technique.  The Fundamental 1 Seminar will give the tools to confidently communicate and precisely locate the cause of the patients problems.  This includes learning consultation, focused examination, report of findings and precision X-ray positioning.

Seminar training will include:

  • An introduction to Advanced Orthogonal
  • Basic anatomy of the upper cervical structures
  • Basics of cervical biomechanics
  • Introduction to Upper Cervical neurology
  • Communication skills to connect with and educate the patient
  • Examination flow to bring the patient to the cause of the problem
  • The Pierce Maneuver
  • Scanning palpation of the upper cervical soft tissues
  • The Supine Leg Length Analysis
  • Understanding the purpose of the four Advanced Orthogonal views
  • Measuring the Atlas Sagittal Plane Line and the Axial Angle, and understanding why they are taken
  • Placement protocols and rules for precision x-ray positioning
  • Hands on X-ray positioning practice
  • Troubleshooting the overweight patient for the Horizontal View
  • Troubleshooting antalgic patient postures


This is the first of three Advanced Orthogonal Fundamentals needed to become a Certified Advanced Orthogonist.
